The Local Church Ministries and Mission Outreach
What is Local Missions?
God tells us in his wonderful Word the purpose for each of us. That purpose is to glorify Him and have a relationship with Him (Gen 5:1, 2). The best way to show God that you love Him is to give Him your praise and your honor (Psalm 19:1).
One way to show Him your gratitude is to tell others about Him. If something exciting happens, what do you do? You tell others about that event or what has happened to you. As a new or seasoned Christian, God wants us to do the same thing. In local missions we can tell others about God and his perfect plan that all should believe in His Son as their personal Savior.
When you share Christ in DeBary and around the area, you are being a local missionary. If you are a Christian, one day you will be with God forever. Will you have lived for Him, Honored Him, and told others about Him? What a blessing it will be to meet Him face to face and hear those words, “Thou good and faithful servant.” What a blessing it will be to see those to whom you witnessed, planted seeds, and led to the Lord! Help spread God’s Word.
Our Local Missionary Outreach:
What better way to glorify the Lord than to do what Jesus said:
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
These were some of the last words that Christ spoke to us here on earth. He gave His life for you. What will you do for Him? We live in “Jerusalem” – DeBary. Others are able to serve the Lord in “Judea” – Florida. Many more labor for Christ in the “Samaria” – in the United States. Still others serve Him, “unto the uttermost parts of the earth. Where are you witnessing and serving the Lord?
Below is the Great Commission Christ gave to us, right here in DeBary, Florida
Matthew 4: 18 - 25
18And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan
